Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., YouTube videos). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if the visitor has visited the other website, which may collect data or use tracking.

If you have an account or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you. You can also request that we erase your data, except for information we are legally required to keep for administrative or tax purposes (such as donation records).

  • How we protect your data: We use SSL encryption across our entire site and limit access to personal data to staff members who need it to perform their roles.

  • Data Breach Procedures: In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users via email within 72 hours of discovery.

  • Children’s Privacy: As an organization focused on youth, we take privacy seriously. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without explicit parental consent.

9. Mobile Communications & SMS Privacy

If you provide your mobile phone number to The Empowerment Factory (e.g., via a contact form, program registration, or by opting into text alerts), the following terms apply:

  • No Sharing of Mobile Data: We value your privacy. Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties under any circumstances.

  • Opt-Out: You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Just text “STOP” to the short code or number you received a message from. After you send the SMS message “STOP” to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed.
